What We Are
Creative Slump No More is a baby now. But it will grow (hopefully) and becoming something more.
If you don’t know who I am, my name is Richard Louissaint — former
music journalist, turned writer with an MFA, now an emerging
photographer trying to turn pro while breaking into the business and
editorial side of the industry.
At times I feel like I don’t know what I’m doing or how I should be
doing it. The nature of making a living as an artist seems to be parts
talent, but mostly hustle/motivation/confidence. On top of that not
all of us want to make a living doing what clients want us to do and
compromising every time. So where do you find an out let for your
creative work that is more “fine art” than for business?
so the questions that keep popping up from talking to people:
What do you want to do?
Where do you see yourself in five years?
What are you doing to get to where you want to be?
Are you scared of failing?
Are you looking at what your peers are doing/accomplishing, too much?
Hopefully all of us here are looking for a way to answer those
questions and get on the right path towards our goals.
